JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A van crashed into a brick wall before plowing into a tire store off of Arlington Expressway Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 7:40 a.m. at Tires Plus, and only the driver was injured.
"I heard just a very large bang, and I was sitting in the office and came out and looked around and saw one of our posters had fallen down, then came around the corner and saw that there was a van that came through our wall," said Patrick Child, a Tires Plus employee. "It was just incredible."
Child said he was sitting in an office just 2 feet from where the van crashed.
Police said they don't know why a woman driving the van crashed into the store. Child said the woman was unconscious after the crash, and he helped her out of the van.
He said when the woman regained consciousness, she told him she had no idea how she crashed into the store.
The van missed several obstacles, like light poles and traffic signs, before crashing into the building. Officers are investigating the crash.
