City council members, who have been under pressure by Mayor Nutter to cut spending, turned the tables on Monday by grilling Nutter's aides on how much he's spending.
Councilman Darrel Clarke said the budget of the mayor's office in the final year of John Street's tenure was around $3 million, but Mayor Nutter wants more than $4.5 million for his office in the coming year:
"Based on these numbers, there seems to be a significant increase."
