POWELTON - June 11, 2013 (WPVI) --
A baby boy has died after falling several stories from an apartment
window in Philadelphia's Powelton section Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called around 12:45 p.m. to the 300 block of N Busti Street for the report of a child that fell out of a window.
Officers arrived to find 18-month-old Hezekiah Robinson who fell out of a 5th floor apartment window.
An officer rushed the child to Presbyterian Hospital. Hezekiah was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and was then taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for further treatment. The 18-month-old ultimately succumbed to his injuries just before 3:30 p.m.
The boyfriend of the baby's mother tells Action News that the child fell out of a window where there used to be an air conditioner. However, the air conditioner had been removed and the window was covered with cardboard.
Police are investigating.
