Bicyclists may be rejoicing and drivers may start screaming.
Center city traffic will be altered in a major way this fall: the Nutter administration will be testing a plan in which one lane on Pine Street and Spruce Street, river to river, would be reserved solely for bicycles.
At some point after Labor Day, the city will launch a six-week pilot program in which bicyclists will have sole possession of one lane of eastbound Pine Street and one lane of the westbound Spruce Street:
