ABERDEEN,
Md. - Aberdeen Police were investigating a stabbing late Tuesday
afternoon after a mother reportedly stabbed her daughter in the back.
According to police, officers responded to the 100 block of William Powell Court to investigate a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found Antonette E. Jones, 27 of the 100 block of Hamilton Street in Aberdeen suffering from a stab wound to her upper back, police said.
Police say Jones became involved in a family argument with her mother, Gwendolyn L. McNeil, 48, of the 100 block of William Powell Court when McNeil stabbed Jones with a kitchen knife.
Officers provided first aid until paramedics from the Aberdeen Fire Department arrived and transported Jones to Bay View Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
McNeil was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police say McNeil will be transported to the Harford County Detention Center for a bond review.
