Chester City Controller And Another Shot At Chester Gas Station
DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) – Two people were reportedly shot at a gas station in Chester Friday afternoon.
The victims were shot at 9th St and Kerlin Ave at about 4 p.m. Authorities have identified one of the victims as Edith M. Blackwell, Chester’s newly elected City Controller. Authorities say she was an innocent bystander. She heard the bullets and tried to run into the mini-mart but was instead struck by a stray bullet, police said. The second victim was struck in the leg.
Both were taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center where authorities say their injuries are not life-threatening.
