Phila. Firefighters Will Use Boots to Collect for Charity
by KYW's John McDevitt
Philadelphia firefighters will be out at high-profile intersections on Friday, collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
"Please fill the boots!"
That's nine-year-old Christian Suchodolski of the Doylestown area, asking you to contribute as firefighters begin asking passersby on city street corners to throw money into a rubber boot as they pass it around.
His mom, Cathy, was explaining the effort to her son, who has muscular dystrophy:
"It's to help you, for research to get you better, so you will be able to walk and run."
