Double Death Penalty Handed Phila. Man in Witness Murders

A Philadelphia jury has handed the death penalty -- twice -- to a 28-year-old man who pleaded guilty to murdering a witness and her friend in 2008.
Prosecutor Carlos Vega argued passionately for the death penalty for defendant Laquaille Bryant (above), telling the jury to do "what is important, what is right" -- to do justice for victims Chante Wright and Octavia Green.
Both were shot to death. According to the prosecution, Wright was shot because she was a witness in another murder case, and Green was shot because Bryant did not want to leave any witnesses to Wright's murder behind.
