You come and you go
I never know from which way you are going to show
brightly for all to see
or hiding behind something maybe a tree
will you show all that you have?
regardless of who can handle your brightness?
I want to bathe in the warmth of your glow
to deepen the essence of whoI am
but when I am ready it seems as if you've ran
behind something, playing hide and seek.
Life continues while you yet live
others are dying because of your brightness you will not give
am I one of them?
It's too soon to tell.
What I do know is that
with your brightness and my willingness to let you shine
we most definitely gel.
On the days you let yourself go
I delight in your glory
running through the open fields like a gazelle
I secretly whisper the love's spell of our story
When you choose to hide
the overcast of your lack
sometimes makes me feel blue and backslide
into a place of self-pity wondering where you are
wondering why you have chosen to hide from me
I love your presence - you promote growth
and I hope for you to always be
but the funny thing is
that no matter whether you hide or whether you show
your light shines ever so brightly still -
what I have to realize is,
and do so now,
is that others need your shine.
And that when you are not blazing for me
You are shining worldwide.
