The clock is ticking toward the expiration of contracts at month's end for more than 10,000 city workers. Mayor Nutter's message to them: get ready for sacrifice.
District Council 33, the largest city workers union, is running ads demanding a fair contract, and both DC 33 and 47 plan a big rally at Love Park this Thursday. Mayor Nutter's response is that the gloomy economy, at the national and city levels, will play a big role in determining what makes a fair contract:
