Philadelphia is on the receiving end of $13½ million in federal stimulus money for a variety of public safety projects.

Philadelphia Common Pleas Court presiding judge Pamela Dembe (above) says one facet of the grant will go toward preserving jobs in probation and parole. Other facets will provide "green" jobs for ex-offenders, help train at-risk youth, equip and instruct police in non-lethal weapons, and create something called a "realtime crime center."
